Reading Buddies
Beginning in preschool, RASA students are encouraged to develop an appreciation for and love of reading. All student's have quiet reading time during the week where they can select a book that interests them and develop both their literacy and passion for reading.
As part of the Language Arts curriculum, RASA’s Reading Buddy program allows for an incredibly positive interaction between RASA students. Reading Buddies meet to share and develop a mutual love of books and interest in reading. Younger children look forward to sitting down with their ‘reading mentors’ and hearing their chosen stories while the older children grow their skills of reading, build self-esteem and learn to serve as role models for their younger apprentices.
